Explain why you like being anonymous
I don’t. Wearing a physical mask is sweaty, foggy and exhausting. But its all worth it because I know under the mask lies yet another mask and when it’s on the ego turns off and I am truly free to play.
Who are some of your musical inspirations?
Jon Hopkins, Martin Vogt, Martin Stimming, Joel Zimmerman, but mostly the musicians I get to experiment with in my free time.
Could IDM work on an EDM mainstage?
It already has, deadmau5 at iTunes festival was a perfect example. How ever it’s anything but ideal. Like any music, there are energetic components to them but the perfect venue would be something like the 4d Sound system in Europe that can accurately describe and portray the emotional elements ment to be expressed.
How is the scene in Toronto?
Diverse, evolving and full of pure talent. There are tones of annual festivals to choose from however, the deeper you dig the better it gets.
Share a production trick
I could get technical here but the truth is the biggest obstacles producers face is themselves. In this industry, self development is more essential then technical details. Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone to explore the possibility of what can be done then has already. So my greatest production tip would be to focus on your development as your productions will reflect that.
If you could make one change in the world as we know it, what would it be?
I couldn’t express that, because the one change I would make would be to explore the world as we don’t know it x]
Are you excited about the new reports on 4d sound? Would you like to work with that?
Absolutely, it’s simply brilliant. What an artist could do with it is truly create an atmosphere he wishes to express. It’s really pushing the possibilities of what sound could be and I’m really hoping venues start to appear these kinds of technologies.
