Review: LOMEZ – AFTERHOURS EP

Full of diversity and textures, Afterhours presents listeners with a unique warehouse styled 9 nine track musical adventure.

Lomez starts us off nice and easy with Summerside featuring Atnarko. He really shows off the depth of his diversity and influences Summerside wraps the musicality of progressive into the underling deep laidback grooves.

On my mind takes the vibes up a notch into the realm of Tech house bringing punchier drums, a darker atmosphere and an edgy floor shaking bass.

An instrumental drum-free six and a half minutes of pure deep progressive atmosphere and relaxing vibes. Distance & Love is a good example of the musical abilities of Lomez.

Smiles in my sleep featuring the vocals Phillip Charles brings vintage funky vibes with a real authentic Detroit tech house sound.

Lomez takes a darker techy approach with Algonquin. Rolling sub bass caries the tune through intertwining layers of atmosphere and grooves.

Breed has a deep minimalistic warehouse vibe to it. Deep rhythmic sub bass,a catchy filtered organ and an interesting vocal give the tune a real sexy groove.

Continuing where Breed left off Lomez and Andrew Grant take the funky grooves even further with Wet sands. An infectiously catchy bass and offbeat synth relationship provide the basis of the tune.

Wes Pratt sees Lomez and Andrew Grant team up once again to bring a deeper yet equally as funky as wet sands. Layers of beautiful pads and atmosphere bring depth to the overall vibe of this groove based tune.

Lomez rounds off after hours with the silky smooth vibes of Dig.The sounds of Deep house are in full effect to bring the energy of the release back down to where it started in summerside.
